I agree wholeheartedly; genealogy is an obsession for me and I *love* finding new ancestors. I feel close to each person; I just wish I could know what they all looked like!

I wish I could know what many of them looked like too. I do have pictures of my grandparents on both sides of the family that were born in 1898 and the early 1900's and also some of my great but I'm not sure of the names of many of the other people in the family. I wish someone would have labeled them.

Just started mine about 6 months ago. I find it very interesting and I love a good challenge. I have discovered many interesting details about what I thought was a prety boring family.

I used to a few years ago, but my computer crashed and I lost everything. I've recently started up again and I enjoy it emmensly. My father in law was here for a week and I got a lot of information from him, so I'm online reading myLot and working on his side of the family.

I love genealogy and have been doing research since I was 12 years old. I am like a kid a candy store when I find information on my family. When I hit a brick wall after brick wall with my family research I work on my siblings fathers family or my sons father's side or my husbands family. I drive my family crazy with all the questions about family history or talking about family history. Yet, when someone need information about the family or their side of the family they come to me. Happy Hunting!

I'm a huge fan of genealogy. Been working on it on and off for about five years now. I'm currently trying to get a link to the landed gentry of Dumfries in Scotland. All the christian names and surnames tell me there must be a link but I just can't see it. On my wife's side, we're hunting the husband who went to The States in the 1920s saying he'd send for the family but never did. We know from census returns he lived in Detroit in 1930 but then the trail goes cold. His two sisters (both spinsters) lived in Michigan until their deaths in the 70's.

Oh a major one! I've been addicted to doing genealogy and finding my lineage for almost my entire life. It's amazing what you can actually find out about your forebears. The more you find out about them, the more they become living breathing people and not just data on a page. I know this addiction/passion will be a life time thing. Once you get bit by the bug, there's no turning back!
