Favorite Australian Bands #6 - Real Life

Having already done countdowns of both my favorite German and Canadian bands, when @JudyEv suggested Australian groups, I was all over it. I am at #6 in this series: Real Life.
Real Life was a great synth pop band that formed in Melbourne in 1980. They are best known for their 1983 hit, "Send Me an Angel."
(Fun Fact: Between remixes, rerecording, and rereleases, there are 18 different versions of "Send Me an Angel" out there.)
(Another Fun Fact: Original member, violinist/keyboardist Richard Zatorski went to law school after leaving the band and now works as a lawyer in Melbourne.)
(Yet Another Fun Fact: Remember back in the days of Napster? Many versions of "Send Me an Angel" were mistakenly labeled as a Pet Shop Boys tune, and is often still confusedly credited to them.)
But I have not linked to "Send Me an Angel." You see, there was more to Real Life than that hit. Instead, I am going with a minor hit, "God Tonight." It's a great piece of synth pop that would have been perfect as a Dead or Alive song.
Enjoy!

Send me an angel, did Scorpions cover that or was it just a whole other version. May sound like a dumb question but is pretty amazing how many songs out there that you never knew was a cover on the lesser known band.

No, they are completely different songs. Wouldn't mind hearing what the Scorps could do with it, though.

Ah, yes, Napster and their "Eagles - Dust in the Wind" labeling. Okay, some things about Napster I don't miss in the least. (Okay, there's copies of "Send Me an Angel" listed as "Pet Shop Boys" on You Tube.....)
As for Real Life, I remember "Send Me an Angel," so musically I could see the similarities.

I once thought I had found some new Tool song on Napster. I downloaded it, and it sounded nothing like Tool. I don't remember who it actually was, but it damn sure wasn't Tool.

I know "Send Me An Angel" -- also "Real Life" - great song Jake Owen - one of the only ones I like new country

I haven't heard it, but then again, I don't like modern country.

It seems to be about the same. I get pretty much the same response as always.

I was never that fond of Send Me an Angel. Didn't know Real Life was Aussie.
