I finally did it!

This weekend, I made it one of my goals to eat a real breakfast. What I did was simple: I fried two eggs on relatively low heat, and then sprinkled some lox, avocado, and cheese on top. To make it an official Horse breakfast, there had to be an element of silliness, so I had leftover chips from the Mexican place as my "carb." It was really quite satisfying. Today I have to rush off or work, so I'm back to cereal. This isn't a "recipe post," is it?

I mash avocados and then beat eggs into them and cook in a skillet. So good! My husband not really a fan of it though.

No, this is not a recipe post, if it was, I have seen many more that fit better in "recipe categories". I like fried eggs, but I do not like the taste of salmon with eggs. Eggs and ham is still one of my favorite.

I like ham too. That would work just as well in this "recipe."

@Marty1 I also like to make scrambled eggs with ham, it's my favorite. A BIG hug to my little Onyx and also to you Jennifer.

No, not a recipe post... more like a bragging post. When I read the words "real breakfast" I thought you'd been having imaginary ones before.

That looks great! I don't believe that in all my years I have ever eaten lox. You seem to have it around often, so it must be pretty tasty.

Why are recipes not allowed? If we can have discussions about food why can't we have discussions about recipes? Or are we not allowed to discuss food either?

Heh. They just don't want "pure" recipe posts. On a website called Bubblews, people used to cut and paste recipes and call it a post.

the kind of recipe post not allowed, lena, is if it's just a list of ingredients and procedure, nothing else.

@TheHorse So if I have a recipe in a discussion but also add other relevant stuff to it would that be allowed?

It doesn't sound like a recipe post to me. I know I've been concerned in the past that some of my posts have skated too close to that line, but I've been okay too. I had over medium eggs and toast. I feel like I'm missing something, but I don't have any fruit or prepped veggies on hand this morning and I don't want to open a can of sardines.

If you are discussing about food and how you prepare it, why you like it, when you eat it, it is not "a recipe post" but rather a discussion about a recipe. Other people can join in, and I think that is the main difference.

Just call me ignorant, but is lox the same as smoked salmon? I know it is salmon in some form. I know I would like it, just not sure I have ever had it.

A breakfast fit for a horse (or I should say "The" Horse ). I don't know why I think some salsa would be good with that. Well, not with cereal though .

@daphers1981 No, it's to protect the site. On another site (and maybe this one at one time), people would cut and paste recipes and call it a post. They were just trying to make a few cents for someone else's work.
