My dream house became a nightmare.

It was a gradual process really. It didn't start to get get at me until 2005 when our boy died. The life and soul of the house had gone. The major reason for us taking it on was to give Alan a better life with cleaner air and also that he would be less than 2 mins away from grandad. Then Dads wife died. Then Yvonne's long collapsed. She almost died. Then Dad had a heart attack and then a stroke. Whilst all this was going on things started to go wrong with the house. It got really damp. The drains kept blocking. Then doing some routine plumbing I discovered the bathroom wasn't on any sort of foundation. All the pipes were washing machine pipes. The drain problem was caused by the need for a new soak away. The house needed under pinning again. Then Dad had to be moved to sheltered accommodation. Couldn't afford to do all the repairs. Had no enthusiasm to do any either. It had got to much for me to manage. I started doing some heavy duty drugs. And in 2016 when the clocks changed for winter and the damp patches started to appear I had had enough. £70 I was paying to heat this house. Got new windows in 99 and by 2016 3 of them were letting the wind in. Company that did them went bust and couldn't honour warranty. Then Dad died April 2016. Nothing to keep us in the house now - but I still didn't act. Two weeks into winter though lol and that was enough. The damp was worse than ever and we were both miserable and I think when we got the call to come and see this place we both realised it was time to move. So we did.

Hi. Things are ok. Glad we moved. In a small quaint quiet town now. First time we have had neighbours since the 90,s. It's strange having people through the wall and above us.

You sure went through a rough time. So what kind of house did you get and where do you live now? Hope everything is now going well for you.
