I do not know what the laws are in Massachusetts regarding anyone who files a claim that they lost a huge amount of money on the street. The story is from Hingman Massachusetts when a woman found an envelope that had written on the outside it had $5,500 dollars from Citizens Bank at a parking lot on Saturday. The unidentified woman took the money to the Hingman Police Department since she did not want to take money with a huge amount without reporting the loss to the police. When the envelope was opened by the police officers, they found newspaper scraps that looked like money. The Hingman Police thanked the woman for her honesty. However the Hingman Police have fingerprints on the envelope to send him or her a ticket for littering since they think it is a prank that could be on the television shows "Candid Camera" or "What Would You Do?"

That woman was only being honest, that was wonderful she went to the police! If it's a prank, they should get a ticket and a stiff fine!

I agree with you since she did the right thing not opening the envelope or keeping it to herself as an act of greed.

It was a nice thing she did, but it's going to backfire on the person who left it there.
