Lightning is one of nature's deadliest phenomenon, claiming roughly 55 to 60 lives every year across the United States and injuring hundreds more. Some people were struck and killed while riding a motorcycle, while some others were fatally struck while closing car windows.A single lightning bolt at a military base in Hattiesburg,Mississipi,in June 2011 struck an entire troop of cadets, sending about 77 of them to hospital......
A sturdy and enclosed building or a car is the safest place to be during a lightning. It is important to keep in mind though that if you are in a car during a thunderstorm, you should avoid touching metallic areas that can conduct electricity....Lightning can be life-threatening....Don't take it light......

True all over the world more so especially in developing and underdeveloped countries many deaths occur in the hinterland. It is one of natures wonderful phenomena but also one of the deadliest. Best thing to stay safe is not to venture out when it is raining heavily as lightning can strike, avoid using umbrellas made of metal, staying away from fields and open places and not standing under trees. It is also not advisable to use mobiles in case we have to go out during rainfall. Very useful information from your end and thanks for the same.

I am very scared of thunder and lightning. When there are thunder and lightning here, we off the main switches of all appliances, so that it does get spoiled.
