Earnings System

I read the FAQ, but I still do not have a clear understanding on how it works. I've been posting and commenting, but I still have 0.0000 dollars. Who decides the pay, an algorithm, a human? What is the basis of qualification? Perhaps it is kept secret to prevent exploitation of the system.

This is quite clearly explained in the Earnings Program FAQs. It is an algorithm, not a human, which calculates what you earn.
"How much can I earn with each discussion, response or comment? - This all depends on how interesting and valuable the myLot community considers it. The more that other myLot users interact with what you post, the more money it will make. If no one reads what you wrote, interacts with it, or otherwise considers it interesting, then you likely won't earn anything."
The principle is that anything you post becomes eligible for earning but doesn't actually earn anything at all until someone interacts with it in some way. In other words, the more people respond to, comment on or 'like' what you post, the more you will earn.
People are unlikely to want to interact much with what you post unless you interact with them by (a) responding to their posts in a meaningful, informative and relevant way and (b) by commenting on the responses you get to your discussions and the comments you get in other discussions. In other words, myLot is ALL about mutual interaction. Not everyone understands this, I think, so you will find some people who don't, as a rule, comment back on the responses and comments they get. Personally, I make a mental note not to bother with those people again - their loss, of course, not mine!
Some other things it may be useful to know are:
1) The bank updates once an hour usually but may not always do so. You shouldn't worry if it doesn't: it will always catch up eventually.
2) The people who earn the most here are the people who don't bother too much about the earnings (and may not look at the bank very much at all) but who concentrate on enjoying and contributing to discussions.
3) We are not told how much (in dollars and cents) each 'interaction' is worth because it may vary from month to month or week to week or even from day to day. The algorithm is very complex and tries to ensure that the site never promises to pay out more than it can afford to do. That one reason why myLot has survived for 11 years when other, similar, programs have failed after two or three!

@denadej It's also a very good place to practice and improve your English because people will not (on the whole) criticise you for mistakes - it's in the Guidelines - but are often very ready to help you if you have questions about grammar or usage.

we earn when we receive likes, responses and comments, but no, there is no fixed rate.

@me87831 that’s one thing that I’m enjoying about this site. Self expression. On FB I’m usually careful about what I write about.

As a myLot returnee who didn't bother to reread the FAQs for any updates or changes from when I was last active on here, I used to find that the more interactive you are, keep your discussions and comments to a minimum of 3-4 sentences to make it substantial, the more you earn. Also, if you actually do respond to the people posting to your discussion, gives you better chances.
I also find that it doesn't update until after 24 hours.
