Favorite Australian Bands #3 - AC/DC

It was @JudyEv that suggested the theme for this particular music series, which consists of my favorite bands from her native Australia. We are at #3, and no surprise here: AC/DC. Members of both the Australian Recording Industry Association and Rock and Roll Halls of Fame, AC/DC formed in Sydney in 1973. They have sold more than 200 records worldwide, and have won a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. They also have won four Australian Recording Industry Association awards. Considered by many a heavy metal band, the group chooses to classify themselves as simply a rock and roll band. They have released 17 studio albums and 47 singles, including their massive hit, "You Shook Me All Night Long." Both Melbourne, and Leganes, Spain have named streets after the band. I've linked to my favorite AC/DC song, the studio version of "Highway to Hell." It's a bona fide classic, complete with vocals by the late Bon Scott. Enjoy! (Info verified by Wikipedia)
Un bijou du légendaire groupe australien AC/DC ! Enjoy ! \m/

Their brother, George (insert Liberace joke here) was a member of the Easybeats. He just passed away a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah, I read that. They say that he was responsible for formation of AC/DC. That without his influence, the band might have never formed.

Did not know that they are Australian? You aren't the only one, judging from the comments.

I knew they were from Australia , but somehow I always think they are British. Awesome band that paved the way for many. OK, Midnight Oil you get second overall, but still get first for your style of music. lol My opinion anyway. lol

@crossbones27 - Leaving Midnight Oil off of this would be like leaving Air Supply off. Oh, wait. I did leave Air Supply off!

AC/ DC Very interesting. As name points out hope that they can tame both high voltage and low voltage songs.

In this case, the theme is bands from Australia, so it does matter. But you are right, they are a great band no matter where they are from.

The best song & my favorite song AC/DC sings is, "It's a long way to the top, if you want to rock and roll".

I have a photo of a sculptor of Bon Scott somewhere. It stands in Fremantle near the Fishing Boat Harbour but at the moment I can't find it to add it here.
