Yes, it’s easy to guess that was the theme for a third birthday party of my sister-in-law’s first grand-daughter!
Kids’ birthday parties always look so fun and exciting! Having a theme makes it even more so. The decorations, the cakes, even the costumes can all be theme and color coordinated...
My sister-in-law absolutely spoils her grand-daughter. She even hired a Belle character to entertain the kids along with a jumping castle. The kids were all so excited when Belle arrived. She told them stories, played some games with the kids, and took lots of pictures with them. When it was time for Belle to leave, the birthday girl hugged her so tight like she didn’t really want to let go. She was so impressed that real life Belle would actually show up on her birthday party and she said to her grandma: “Maybe Snow White is coming too, grandma?”

My daughter had Rapunzel show up fir her daughters birthday party. In two years they are planning a trip to Disney and are going to have me make my granddaughter a Belle costume.

@youless Since she just turned 3 and has not gone to school yet, the other kids invited were just children from her parents' friends. I think there were only about a dozen kids around, and I'm not sure how many boys were there. From the videos and pictures it seems majority of the kids were girls in different ages from one to around eleven years old.

My niece was Belle on her 7th birthday. We had a ball so there were dancing but not the modern dance. Ballroom dancing.

@sishy7 so true. When my niece was much younger she was snowwhite and Ariel is the little mermaid.

@cahaya1983 You had colorful balloons, right? Maybe with "Happy Birthday" written on them...

@sishy7 Yeah it is! I think the themed-birthday party trend just started here a few years back. We didn't have it when I was a kid.

Yes, the older kids may have some understanding that these are just make-believe characters... But for a 3-year-old they can leave a lasting impression that a Disney character does really show up as a real life princess... It is a bit of a shame, as you said, when the impression is spoiled...

@sishy7 growing up, we didn't have themes. Just gatherings with cake and ice cream, and presents.

@Courtlynn And those were cool too - we were just as happy and excited without themes...

Maybe next year all the Disney characters can fly out from Disney World! Now that would be some theme, lol.

@sishy7 The Beast is crucial to the story !
Oh gosh, yes, we have seen all kinds of birthday themes and such here . . . there have been too many extravagant over the top parties, believe me. I think one of the kids' ex-teacher from the Y impersonates Cinderella and Elsa (from Frozen) .

That is so cute! It's always such a pleasure to see the world through the innocent eyes of a child, and to watch their astonishment in seeing and meeting "real" Disney characters!
Which reminds me...I once dated a girl who worked for Disney and "played" the Belle character at the Magic Kingdom theme park in Orlando, FL. I couldn't believe that I got to date the real Belle!!!! haha

@sishy7 Of course I didn't know she was Belle when I met her, and she didn't tell me until a little later after we had started dating.

So wonderful to imagine the fairy tale characters come to life...And even more so for the little Bday girl who must be thinking it is all real.
The decorations look terrific.
Far cry from the homely parties we had as kids
