Are you tired of home?

During this typical cloudy and ugly day here in Pennsylvania, I began to think and daydream.
I don't really know why I can't stand it here, yet I'm so comfortable.
I suppose it's because I need to get out of the woods in order for my art to prosper more. I'm anxious to travel, but I haven't even started to put savings aside for it yet.
I suppose I'm worried that I will get pulled into the black hole tendency that this place has and I'll never be able to leave.
What about you folks... do you ever get sick of home?

This is the only "home" I know. I've changed houses, but I've lived in this Valley in Los Angeles, CA almost all my life and so has Hubby. Being in the arts, I am glad we live in a city that supports the arts . . . at the same time, I know it's ultra competitive to be a working artist here.

@Mr_Anomaly Do you make use of a website, blog, or the like . . . just to get the word out there (I need to do this myself one day)? At least with the cyber world, you can have any home base while you are working on where you really want to be.

LA is definitely one of the cities I'd like to visit most in order to put my artwork out there... aside from san francisco and NYC. As of right now, I feel that Philly should be my next target of operations. It's close, easy to get to, etc. I'm basically working out of the middle of nowhere currently, and struggling to find a way out haha

@much2say I do, but I can kind of feel social networking dying in regards to sharing art.. Facebook has made it much more difficult for business pages. Less and less people see your work now because they're essentially trying to force you to pay for likes.. people like myself don't make much money to begin with at my low paying day job so I need a new plan outside of just social networks. Though it's still something I still work with in my spare time. My website needs a bigger stock, nobody is buying anything off of it because it's empty... another money problem lol. There's lots of work ahead of me haha
Plus I really want to travel out to do mural work. That's the stuff the media eats up. Have to go big or go back to Pennsylvania haha

I don't because I'm mostly out of the house. So whenever I got the chance to spend time in my own home the whole day, I see that as a privilege.

@Mr_Anomaly I did live in another country for 6 months and I still went back to my beloved country. Once every two years we try to travel out of the country. Once or twice a year we travel to places within this country. I also go on a business trip once in awhile. And I always miss the city I live in. So I don't feel stuck.

@toniganzon That's good to hear Glad that you enjoy and never get tired of where you live. For me it is difficult to go on vacations... I'd be going all alone, and it's also difficult to save the money needed to go to the places I want to visit.

Hi Tony, I didn't mean home as in your house, more so your general location... Town or city. Do you ever long to leave it to live somewhere else for a while?

There are many days from time to time I feel this way. That is when it is time for either just myself or my husband and
I to plan a trip away for a couple of hrs, etc and go have some fun and then come home, regroup and feel like I can tackle anything again.

I'm glad to hear! Home truly does mean a lot for me too, but I love to explore... I crave new adventure.

Yes I do. I make a plan on paper and then I do it!

Hmm I always seem to have obstacles that block me from simply doing it... If I can manage to put savings aside, that'll be step one

When it is very cold I either get a head cold or lower back pain.

We recently moved. I was definitely sick of NYC and the surrounding area. I was happiest in upstate NY, but I decided I was ready for a change and we moved to NC. I was sick of being alone and now that I've got the kids and pets home feel a bit more relaxed.
