Raise your hand if you're trying to lose weight!!! I know most of us are foodies and love to cook but those calories certainly add up in our yummy recipes! I thought we could have a thread to support each other in our quest for fitting better into our clothes. One thing that really helps me is drinking 2+ liters of water per day. Oh and not drinking alcohol, which is kinda hard .I'm not a huge drinker but I find the nights I drink I end up over-eating. Recently I finally gave up sugar in my coffee (I used to put 1 tablespoon of sugar in one cup!!) and replaced it with Stevia. Lets share our tips on healthy cooking etc!! What are some things that have helped you lose weight?

We have reduced our consumption of carbs and dairy. We don't keep bread in the house nor cheese/sour cream most of the time. The only dairy we have on a regular basis is half and half in our morning coffee. That's it. Potatoes or rice usually only on days that I have worked out. Pasta maybe once or twice a month. We eat lots of green and colorful vegetables each evening with dinner. (I also have them in the morning with my eggs for breakfast). No corn.

@Mila7272 I probably was too just over a year ago. Then I joined a really cool gym and lost 44 pounds in 3 months. I've been following their nutrition plan since last September and it is great. If you look up the Whole30 nutrition plan, it is very similar to what ours is but we are allowed to have rice.

I have lost a lot of weight since I started skipping breakfast. I don't eat snacks between meals either. I'm also retired so skipping breakfast doesn't impact on my energy levels.

I will surely raise my hand. I drink one glass water before to bed at night and one glass when wake up. That helps very much. Daily exercises ( not hard ) also helps very much to keep the body fit.
