Stranger Things the series..a question

So when it first came on Netflix about a year or so ago, I watched the whole first one in constant confusion. I kept thinking I would eventually have some inkling as to what is going on. I mean I like the 80's music and memories of how that time was but, that is mostly why I kept watching. Well it kind of ticked me off that it switched back and forth with some things happening so at the end of the first part, I decided to remove it from my watch list. Moving forward to Stranger Things 2, that has recently been added. It got lots of award nominations and has been talked about the great acting on most every talk show etc. I thought well maybe I didn't give it a fair chance and plus they were saying, this one is better. So last night I tried part 2. Anyone able to give me some idea as to if the boy in it is just a bit crazy and has big imagination? or is it outer space things? other dimensions ? Anyone like this or able understand it? and Eleven, what is she, 2 versions of her keep popping back and forth? photo public domain of the cast

I don't watch it, but shows with a lot of mythology have a tendency to lose me unless they are coherent. I don't mind a lot of m mystery, but it has to make sense in the long run. It's why I quit watching "Supernatural" .

I keep hearing how awesome it is but I have never watched it. I am not a big fan of fictional things and after reading this post of yours I am even less likely to watch it lol.

@bunnybon7 No need to be sorry it just helps me narrow down things that will likely be a waste of my time to watch.

I have never seen it but I have seen all of the talk shows with the actors/actresses on them. I think its about aliens invading the earth but I am not 100% sure.

it was obviously about some horrible giant monster things the government created by dabbling with experiments for warfare

I have never watched it, but apparently it has garnered lots of rave reviews from both fans and critics. I imagine that at some point I will sit down and binge watch season 1 so I can understand what everyone is talking about.

@bunnybon7 Did you grow up in the 80s? They say that people who grew up in the 80s understand all the references to that decade.

I watched both of them. Will is the boy you are talking about I think. I believe these things invaded his body and he acted differently. When they got that out of him then he was ok. Eleven was abducted by horrible man that used her as an experiment and taught her to do things that others could not do. She had certain power. She found her mother that she was taken from and then found her sister is why they kept going back and forth.

I feel confuse too especially I see the Season 2 first before I see the Season 1. I don't even understand I thought Eleven is gone from season 1 yet she is still present in season 2

No idea. Have never watched or heard of it here in Latvia. We get some of the shows to over certain sites but not this one.You got me curious and this is one explanation for you that I found. This thrilling Netflix original drama stars Golden Globe-winning actress Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, who lives in a small Indiana town in 1983 -- inspired by a time when tales of science fiction captivated audiences. When Joyce's 12-year-old son, Will, goes missing, she launches a terrifying investigation into his disappearance with local authorities. As they search for answers, they unravel a series of extraordinary mysteries involving secret government experiments, unnerving supernatural forces, and a very unusual little girl.

Guess the director of that series said, 'let make something so strange that no one could guess what it is about, and if people still persevere in watching it, then that would be seriously 'strange'. Let call that series 'Strange'! ' (If you don't understand it, I bet I won't be able to either...)
