Get Your Teeth Cleaned! It's Bubblegum Time!

I just realized I haven't started a new countdown! After you see the theme, you might ask me to skip this one. It's time to look at bubblegum music. Ah, bubblegum pop. What a bunch of nonsense. Yeah, but it never tried to pass itself off as the equivalent of Dylan or Hank Williams. It was just something fun. Those were the days. Sometimes it was a teenybopper thing (you'll notice that), and some of the bands never really existed. The music did, though. Some of you might wish it hadn't, of course. I'll be the first one to tell you that a lot of this stuff really deserved the "bubblegum" title, given that it wouldn't do anything but rot your musical teeth. Despite the lightweight feeling, it's fun to pull these songs out and listen to them occasionally. Please note that none of these are on my "favorites" playlist on the iPod. Come along, if you dare, and enjoy some bubblegum music. Just make sure you get your teeth cleaned afterwards. This one didn't make the list:
