Why my dog must do this?

Philippines

I've doing my best in trying to make this Okra grow and for once it was successful. Unfortunately, only I had some insect problem but my dog had also come to like it. And now, he's done it again, eating my precious okra plant. It was explain before that they eat plants to deal with their stomach problem and helped it spit it out. I was wrong and thought he can be just contented with dried dog I left for him for dinner. Does it frustrate you that your pet eats your favorite plant?

@Letranknight2015 Oh, what a bad dog. Can you put a barrier of sorts around it to keep him away? We have to do that with some plants as the kangaroos eat them if we don't.

It is frustrating......My cousin has a Labrador.......The dog tore my cousin's books into pieces, ripped up the carpet and and what not.....I guess we need to keep our pets away from our belongings....

Hello @rey123 Did your cousin ever give the dog some bones or treats? How old is the dog, could it be that the dog is growing some teeth.

When i had a dog it didn't eat my plants. you might want to put a cage around it to save the plant.

Hello @DesirousDreamer It's funny before but I used to think of making a screen cage for my plants. But my dog is very persistent.

I don't have plants because I know my cat will get into them and make a big mess and I will have to clean it up.

Hello @Hannihar That's so weird I had cats and the only problem we had was their poop on the garden..but they never thought of eating plants.

Preiti only eats grass. I have not known her to try anything else. Wonder why your dog goes for plants.

Hello @prashu228 I don't think you understand, I need the Okra's to grow pods. He should have other plants to eat.

the pets we had that ate plants were the cats, not the dogs. maybe you can put the okra plant in an elevated place so your dog can't reach it.

Hello @hereandthere Unfortunately, there won't be much shelter from the Sun. It wasn't completely destroyed though.

As long as the Okra doesn't exceed 10-15% of his daily diet, he should be okay @Letranknight2015 . You might have to buy 2 plants; one for you and one for him.

Hello @nanette64 I have actually got seeds from my brother and those plants took months before they have grown the way they are now. So, it's sad if the dog attempts to mess with it.
