The final countdown to my favorite job songs ending this series. So, lets play trivia and learn a bit about these "chestnut" hits.
Here are today's songs that use a job as part of the title. Do you recall the name of the songs and artists? See if you know what the songs might have in common.
Listen to this sample video to get the first clue and common theme/titles of the music trivia:

Utube Handyman - Video Fun Facts:
-This song which hit #1 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart and reached #4 on the Hot 100, earned Taylor a Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for his cover of Jimmy Jones's and Otis Blackwell's tune.
-The track was off the Triple Platinum selling album JT which earned a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year in 1978.:
(Remember listening to the video provides a clue) Good Luck!!!
Ok, so here are today's song clues:
1. This song is off the band's Quadraphenia album. The track is based off the drummer's personality and he sings most of the vocals on this tune. The only job titled song on the album it is associated with the service and tourism industry.
2. The song was a response to the duo's first critcism. The songwriter was relating the tune to how the critics were beating up on him and criticizing his music. These two guys from Queens took over 100 hours to record this track. The writer used passages from the bible like "workingman's wages as inspiration for this tune. This folk-rock duo released this song on the "Bridge Over Troubled Water" album.
3. The song was written by Jimmy Webb who also played Hammond organ on the track. The song was about a blue collar guy who did an ordinary job in Kansas. This Country star's pop version of this tune appeared on his 1968 album of the same name, reached number 3 on the US pop chart, remaining in the Top 100 for 15 weeks. In addition, the song also topped the American country music chart for two weeks. This accomplished musician also did a little acting on the side, and received an Academy Award Nomination for the John Wayne picture "True Grit."
Happy Recap:
1. Song from Quadraphenia album. Drummer sang on the track.
2. Two guys from Queens recorded this song.
3. Country star also acted a little with John Wayne.
....Use those clues folks!!!!
Appreciate all who participate and you know what I say...as always, thanks for playing! Hope these songs brought back a pleasant memory for some...

I have to take exception to you referring to Keith’s performance as “singing.”
Love #3, but only without the grotesquely overproduction of the hit recording. Most of the Jimmy Webb songs he did in that era suffered from overproduction.
There was an extra verse to song #2 that was only on the live recording. Love that song...with Emmylou hadn’t covered it (her rendition wasn’t too good).
No clue, as usual.

So you did not like Keith's singing? Well, you can't deny his effort I had heard that tidbit on #2 also, thanks for bringing that up! On #3 the track included many of the session musicians Glen had recorded with, making that song to me "one of a kind." Many good memories listening to that tune...
Thought you might enjoy this live video performance. Great comments
