Educational Toys for a 2 year old?

Need some guidance here. Have been trying to knock out some Christmas shopping and found myself in a rut - not knowing what to buy for my 2 year old cousin. I would like to buy it on Amazon, since I have a few unused gift cards there from survey sites, and am trying to figure out something educational but also a toy that would make for a good gift. Preferably something in the price range of around $30 or less. Any ideas? One person suggested a LeapFrog, but I know that is far more than my budget, also dont really like the idea of a 2 year old playing with electronics (it feels too early). Anyone have any ideas? Much appreciated. And hope everyone is having a great Tuesday.

How about a cloth book? A little child can not tear it into pieces and it is durable. I always think that books are the best gifts for children.

Hmm.. all learning toys, even stuffys like elmo, are electronic like leapfrog.. just shaped different. Id go to a toy store site and see what they have for their age then decide what you think is best.

Thats true in a way. But a little differenr since its not a device but rather a stuffed animal that makes noise.

@maezee still the same, if you don't want them to get hooked on electronics. But, youre not the parent, so don't worry about that. let the parents worry about all that.

I have no idea what little kids are into this day and time. I always buy books for the little ones.

Books, anything that is interactive with colors, numbers, or words. Puzzles too, all my nieces and nephews have loved puzzles!
