Light vs dark

Why do we look out for light when we are in dark places.. But why we don't look for dark when we are in full light. It happens that we look outside windows in our dark rooms.

As we can't see things in the dark so we search for the light when we are in dark.

Ok. Actually, it happens that automatically our focus goes towards lightning areas..
