My brother passed away earlier this year and just recently I cleaned his computer because I own it now and wanted to start using it. I installed my device the regular old Windows 10, which I'm used to and like. It installed windows 10S. I tried it and didn't like it at all. I can't download my brother's printer on there, and can't download any of the programs I have on my old computer. They have it set to where you just use what Microsoft offers and nothing else. I uninstalled it and re-installed it 3 times. They won't give me the regular windows 10 back. I sent them a message asking “What in the World were they thinking with windows 10S. It is stupid. I want the windows 10 back. Anyone else tried and hate windows 10S?

The 'S' must stand for 'stupid' or 'sneaky' or 'severely limited', though Microsoft say it's built for 'security, sustainability and speed' (or something like that). Win 10S will ONLY run apps downloadable from the Windows store. You cannot install any apps (or drivers) from other suppliers. That means that you can't use Firefox or Chrome (unless those companies make a version available through the Windows store).
You CAN (if you wish) 'upgrade' Windows 10S to Windows 10 Pro for a one-off fee of, I think, $49. From what I've read, that would probably be worth it if you want to run any sensible freeware or third party software ... but I hate the way that Microsoft let you install it and THEN say that you can't have your old version back!
