I was working as contract of service as office staff (administrator of the website) for more than a year in a university then i was hired as part time instructor in web development for less than a month but i am not yet teaching the students because the schedule of the classes were move for about 2 weeks it will be tomorrow . Last Thursday, my department chair told me to apply for the permanent position in teaching because they have a vacant position. I am happy when I heard it from my boss, but i was thinking "how can i become a permanent instructor, i never experience teaching in a regular classes and my stay here is shorter than any other staff and instructor who is working here longer than to me ". The screening is tomorrow and until now i don't know how can i answer if they ask me Why they promote me as permanent instructor. A little advise is appreciated. I am thinking to answer it, "When i was hired as part time instructor, i am so happy because i can share more knowledge for the students and my dream is finally come true. But when i heard you have a vacant position for permanent position in teaching, i said to my self that I wish i can apply to it or be promoted someday, some instructor told me to apply, but i never think of it right now, i want to be experience first in teaching because i am not yet prepared for that position." If this is my answer i think i will not be hired, but i want to be hired too.

Hey I am a teacher too.. and have tried applying for a position also. I undergone a very long process.. interview and demo to the panel.. If you are applying for Deped (public school) you wil undergo the same process, but hell it wasn't easily. By the way I didn't pursue my application process since that's not my dream job actually though its a fulfilling job!

@runnerx I understand why the selection process of hiring a teacher is tough one because, teacher will be handling kids/young people of new generation. You can make or break one's future, teacher is one of the most influencial persons in the young ones. Goodluck..

@cttolledo Thanks. I am now teaching and enjoy the subject but it is only 2 hours per day. They can't give me more subject because I have other contracts inside the university. It will end this year that is why I apply for instruction position. I thought it will be hard for me to start in this new career, but when I stand up in front of the student and see them enjoy in my subject. I am very happy. Hoping I can give them their expectation.

-You are right @cttolledo I was undergone in a very long process, they said it will only takes maximum of 20 minutes but it takes more than an hour. Other applicant have only 3 panel but when it was my time, they call their 2 expert Instructor in programming and the director of the campus, i feel too nervous when they call them because i know they will was asked me a hard question regarding my computer expertise luckily those question was on youtube. I try to explain it to them in english but when i feel that i can't explain it well, i speak in tagalog (our language). lol It is my dream job to be an teacher, but i do not get teacher education course in my college because of my friend invite me to join him in computer course. I fell in love in computer and I finished it. Now when i was called to be a instructor, i was so happy that my child dream shall be become a reality. .
