While scrolling along on facebook today one of my friends was talking about making sausage balls. Well, it sounded really tasty to me as I haven't had them in a long time.
I know the basic recipe for them but looked online for the cooking time and found a twist on them and decided to give that a try for dinner tonight.
The recipe that I've always used is:
1 lb of sausage
2 cups Bisquick
1 cup of cheddar cheese
Combine that all together and roll into balls and cook for 25 minutes at 350 degrees
The new twist that I found was to add cream cheese to the mix and that is what I tried and it made them creamy instead of being dry. It was delicious.
Have you ever tried a new twist on an old favorite?

I have not seen you in ages! I remember you from Gather and of course here and I think the B site. Good to see you. I have tried the sausage balls this way and they are delicious! We will make plenty of these during the Christmas holiday.

I would definitely recommend it. I really liked the fact that they were more moist than what they are with the very basic recipe.
