Is Your Camera Safe?

Did you know that hackers can access your camera without you knowing it? It can be a web camera, a camera from your laptop, a CCTV, a camera from your phone, and anywhere that can be accessed with the network. This means that being in a secured network is still not safe because it is networked. What will you do?

I know that I have an interesting face, but not to the point to be stalked like that, they would leave quickly. I do not care a lot about accesses on cameras ; I have strong firewalls on my computers and phone with only a few ports opened, the only way to do it would be with a trojan software, it is not impossible but I would be warned quickly of an unusual internet activity.

There will be times also that hacker is aware that you are aware of being hacked. So the best time for him is the time you being unaware. Very clever. They are humans too and have hearts. So they won't do that .

@gibocam If I was aware of being hacked, I would not play at cat and mouse, and it would not last long before I block the IP used by the hacker. Each time I install an app on my phone, I check if it has an internet activity in background. I found a movie converter and a pdf reader doing that. I removed them immediately. Better safe than sorry.

@topffer Yes hackers use IPs when in network but they are always anonymous. It means that their IP changes. What if you left your computer on for just 10 minutes and your not in front of it? Or your phone when you're asleep? And you just lately found that there's a hacker and 10 minutes was enough for him to get what he wants? They always have options. Unless you have your computer with you 24/7 everywhere you go or your phone while asleep.

Yes that I did know and topffer mentioned it sometime back also. The camera I have is an ordinary one and not connected to anything at all.

@gibocam Yes and I donĀ“t have any cd or commands as such to manage this camera and I use a card from another older Camera.

That would be good. As long as they are safe and secured.

I don't have a web cam, a laptop, or a CCTV. I do have a camcorder, but I don't have it hooked up to the computer.

But somebody might hook it up to their computer and copy all the contents. You might never know.
