Have you tried using a pedometer? Having a phone will be a helpful way to count your steps each day. There are dozen of apps in Google Play Store and Apple Store to download pedometers. I have this app that helps me track my daily steps count goal. This keeps me fit and motivate me to walk more as a form of exercise.

@ilocosboy Having an option means having an opportunity to compare their performance too, right? I hope they're useful for you.

It works 95% all the time. You might consider riding in a car cause it counts too. It is in their system that calculates burned kCal. So riding cars or having bumps on the way still count as steps.

I just recently discovered that my preinstalled iPhone health app has that but I really don't bother. I don't check my steps and how many calories I've lost. It's good that it helps you to keep fit and motivates you.

@toniganzon That's good for you. You must be a mobile gamer or an app developer. They need latest tech always like you do.

@toniganzon You paid for it together with your phone. But it's a choice.

It depends on user experience. You know apps are nor perfect. That why there-so thing called app development. If other people want it tk be precised, they can bring tape measure to measure distances and count their steps as they way. That will be crazy, right?

If you're an Apple user, they have this built in app called "health". For android, I'm using Pacer. You can search it from the store. I think there are others better than this but it's a first step. Now, I have this pedometer watch Mi Band. It counts my steps and others. And I have a Mi Band App for android that syncs and records my stats.

@gibocam if it's a phone app, then i guess it's for those who have their phone on them (ex. in their pocket) all the time.

@hereandthere Yup, exactly. But if you have a smart watch or a pedometer watch, you don't need to bring your phone anymore.

Are the apps actual pedometers or just a way to log your steps?
