EMV stands for EuroPay, MasterCard, & VISA. I have this ATM card without an EMV chip and my bank contacted me to replace it with an integrated one. I always use my cards for swiping and withrawing at ATMs but never tried using the chip. What it is for? What would the advantages for me having this?

Does it mean you can withdraw your money in any ATMs all over the world?

Actually yes. It depends on the type of card you have. But having EMV is different. It is a hardware thing that I don't know.

So, that's the meaning of that Chip. Looks more secured to me now than ever before.

The chip is suppose to protect you from your information being stolen.
