Have you heard passengers clap after a plane lands?

There are some people who applaud after a plane ride when the plane lands. I've never done it. People in some countries seem to do it more. It's nice to watch this. Maybe it's the fact that the journey was safe that makes them applaud. Or maybe they clap to show appreciation for the pilot and crew. Have you ever clapped after the plane lands?

Here in Israel when people land at Ben Gurion airport because they are glad to be here so they clap and some of them when get out of the plane kiss the ground because they landed or those that have come Home kiss it because they made it here.

That sounds like a nice way of ending the flight

My first time seeing this was when I took Turkish Airlines and everyone clapped when we landed in Istanbul. It was something new to me but I kind of like it.

The last couple of times I flew, both ways going and then coming home, I have seen people clap when the plane lands. I think personally it is due to feeling the Pilot did a great job, and everyone is glad to be safely back on the ground.

Certainly a nice gesture. I wonder if the pilots can hear this.
