Christmas Party Time!

'Tis the season for too many parties!
Starting this weekend, my husband and I have a very busy social schedule. Now that we are in our "Golden Years," it seems that we have a busier party scene than I had in college.
There are fun luncheons with my girlfriends, a community party we want to attend, several private parties (which include White Elephant Gift Exchanges), a couple of holiday open houses, and my husband's formal company party, which includes spending the night in a hotel in Pasadena.
It will all be fun and I look forward to seeing people whom I only see occasionally.
However, we are going to be insanely busy for the next four weeks.
I remember that when our children were growing up, December was a busy month, too, because of school parties, Girl Scout parties, team parties, etc. I thought I had put all that behind me, though, after our kids had grown up!
Do you have many parties or extra special events this time of year?

Well I hope you enjoy all your parties. My party time is all past and now it is just making each day count and achieving my goals. I leave the good times and smiles to others.

@sallypup - I'm sure you will enjoy your holidays ... whether it is because you are spending time with family, friends, your church group, etc. Enjoy whatever you do!

@DeborahDiane Thank you. I will be home with my hubby. We don't belong to groups etc.

@JudyEv - We don't have dozens and dozens, but we do have several events a week for the next two weeks, and another couple of events after Christmas. It will be fun to see friends we rarely get to see!

@DeborahDiane Haha. Dozens etc was a bit of an exaggeration on my part. Several outings each week would be just about right I think. I like receiving cards from those we don't see especially if they write a letter with it to bring us up to date with what is happening for them. If it weren't for getting in touch at Christmas these people would have no part at all in our lives.

@JudyEv - I agree! I love Christmas letters because then we know what has been going on with our friends over the past year. I especially appreciate "honest" ones which share both the good and bad. We all have illnesses, deaths in the family, job changes, moves, etc., which occur in our lives, and it is important to mention them in our holiday letters.

No parties. We don't do those kinds of things. Though my cousin has what she claims is a christmas party tomorrow, that we'll stop by at. But its not even close to a party

@Courtlynn - Have fun and enjoy the people you are with. I hope you have a good time at your cousin's event, even if it is not really a party.

Where parties are concerned, my plate is empty. The only thing I have this month is the women's brunch I'm hosting next Saturday. An event I'm really looking forward to.
