Can washing the face at night blur the eyesight?

My mom always told me not to wash my face at night since that is the reason her eyesight became bad at an early age.
But upon research, there is no scientific basis to that. Do you believe in it or do you wash your face even when your eyes are tired?

@lady1993 well, I do but, that was prescribed to me long before I started cleaning my face every night. I remember I was 12 back then when I went to doctor about my eyes.

This is an old wives tale and there is no proof that doing so can weaken one's eye sight.

I also heard of that with my mom. Maybe it's bad for the nerves better to relax our eyes or face first before splashing it with cold water

Folklore and myth had their reasons. But, we live in the present.

I have never heard of such a thing. It cleans our face and get rids of dust and germs. We get good sleep when we wash our face before bedtime. I wash my face when I am tired also.
