I used to drink lots of coke every day. Only now I realised that I have been addicted to it. I decided to drink one can per day for a while before I stop drinking it at all. It’s been a week and today is the worse. I feel strong headache and I’m so tempted to take another sip.
But I won’t. I will drink more water and eat fruits hoping to get rid of headache. Few more hours at work and then I’m free. Can’t wait.
How have you been?

Yes you are having caffeine withdrawls, always causes a headache. take an aspirin and hang in there it`ll get better the longer you go without them.

You can do it! I think it's good that you are not quitting all at once, smaller steps are better.
I want to quit also. I eat two meal a day, and I drink Dr. Pepper or Coke with them, but I know it's terrible for me. Let me know how it works for you, maybe you can give me a tip or two.

Are you talking about the American kind with corn syrup?
The Mexican kind with real sugar?
Or the Colombian kind which is a white powder that got banned in all countries?

@Madshadi Yup, The regular American coke uses corn syrup instead of Sugar. Sometimes it depends in country. Jewish coke have uses red beets as sweetener instead of Sugar. Indian coke uses Mollases.
Japan have Sakura coke, It is pink in color and it is cherry blossom flowers flavored.

@CaptAlbertWhisker so you mean to say that the regular non-diet Coke has corn syrup and not sugar? Oh I wouldn't go for the Colombian one.

@Madshadi oh, wow. that's a lot! going down from 5 to 1 is pretty drastic, and yes, people say they get headaches. but if you've managed a week, then it looks like you're on your way to kicking it. would eating more fruits help?

@hereandthere I shall hope so. Cold fruit salad could compensate my thirst for coke. Now I’m on water only. Lack of coke also made me feel hungry although I ate my lunch.

I too love to drink Coke. I drink it once a while. We should not drink it always. We become an addict. It contains caffeine which makes us addicted to caffeine. You must gradually reduce drinking Coke, instead you can drink fresh fruit juices. It does no harm to the body, but coke harms our body. You can experiment it by putting a piece of chicken bone into coke and see what happens to the bone. The same happens to our bones also. So reduce intake of coke.

You are right. But I think that people who support the Coke melting our bones theory are missing the fact that soda does not get in direct contact with our bones. It goes through our digestive system first and it's reaction gets consumed before it gets into our bloodstream. But that still doesn't refute the fact that Coke is unhealthy in other ways.
