With terrible fires raging in Southern California there was one piece of good news reported among the current destruction happening in the state.
Dave Kemp was one of the rescuers of a horse injured when the animal fell and was trapped during the Creek fire in Northern Los Angeles.
According to Kemp, the horse must of been spooked by the fire and ran off, falling down a hill 25 feet, and getting wedged behind a shed garage upside down with its hoofs in the air.
Upon seeing the TV footage at 5am, Kemp raced to the scene to offer his assistance. Fox 11 Reporter Gina Silva had already alerted the authorities by twitter, they arrived on the scene; extracted, tranquilized, secured, and loaded the horse into a van to get treatment.
Thankfully, we have Good Samaritans like Dave Kemp and animal rescuers who risk their own safety to rush to help animals in danger.

Yes, I was wondering what would have happened to the horse if it was not discovered?

The LA Equestrian Center which isn't that far from where I live is now filled to the max with animals. I know other places were taking them in. There are a lot of horses around here.

Yes, I noticed many pictures of people leading their horses away from the barns/homes.
Never realized there were so many horse farms in the area.

@dgobucks226 I have seen that the situation around Los Angeles is very bad. They build houses there that catch fire like matches.

I put my washing to dry on the porch on Tuesday and there is this weird house in front of my building and these kids were there. The man that lived there with his wife fixed it up somewhat but not good for rain and now there is a woman, man and dog that live there. The kids were throwing something to the dog. They noticed me watching so I said hi and told them not to bother the dog. I just wanted to make sure the dog was fine. It seems like the dogs has lots of friends. When I sit on the porch I see her inviting kids inside the gate there and they play with the dog and go inside the house there.

Generally, people do not like to see injury or distressed animals. It seems someone will always responds to an animal's cry for help...

Yes, many horses were in danger of being burned alive. I saw photos of horses who had kicked out part of the barn to escape. Thank goodness for the rescuers.

Yes, many came to help the horse. A vet tranquilized him so he could be safely loaded into a van to take him to get care.

That poor horse. My brother in law is called Dave Kemp but they live in Canada and thy have horse livery with small farm so he would have done the same. Awful that California is going through bush fires yet again.

It is really tragic. And with the high winds they cannot control the fire. Glad to see people volunteering to help the terrified horses and bring them to safety.
