Christmas Dress Ideas : Need Your Opinion!

I am totally feeling the Christmas spirit. Quite clearly. Haha. My family this year are going back and forth between a regular "dress up" day (wearing mostly dresses and black tie type clothes) or a more fun "vintage" dress up. (Do you do themes for Christmas at all? We are probably just weird. One year we had ugly sweaters, another year we did pajamas). I found these two vintage-ish dresses from circa 1970s at the thrift store. Both are kind of gaidy but I cant decide which is a better choice. The first is kind of funny. The second is more like a flapper type dress. And of course I have normal modern day ones, but wheres the fun in that?! Which do you prefer or think is a better choice? And does your family have any kind of fun themes for the holiday or what is the typical dress code like?

I love dressing up for Christmas! Even if it is just 3 of us celebrating, I like being all pretty haha Will a cover be worn for the second dress? Even if not, I like that one, unless you plan on going to Christmas Mass haha then the first one is perfect.

Haha thanks! No Christmas mass here. It is fun to see your family in nice clothes since at least for my family...it does not happen often at all!

We just have a theme of come as you are, of course, cover up please! We have one family member that thinks she can dress like she is working at a stripper bar. I have even said I would bring a sweater for her to cover up with if she dresses inappropriately. LOL.

I've only been to a few parties where its dress-themed. I love family get togethers, but we never do a dress up one.

Personally. I like the sparkly one. It seems festive and fun. We dress up, but we've never had a theme.

Oh nice. I think my family is a little weird like that. Pajama Christmas was a big hit a few years ago. Lol

oh no I would hate if we had to get all dressed up for the day. I just wear jeans or khakis and a sweater to Christmas dinner. I wouldn't roll up in sweatpants and a t-shirt but I also am not going to wear a dress. That would make me uncomfortable and ruin the whole experience for me. That being said, I love the black dress. That one is gorgeous.

Haha thank you. I did wash it and I believe it shrunk a little. Motivation for me to get to the gym. Lol. I seldom dress up but I can understand. Its not fir everyone!

We don't because siblings don't care about it. Lol. As long as there is food on the table for Christmas it's okay with them. But I would like to have a red theme this Christmas.

The black one is really cute and fun! I'd say go with that one! We don't i have a not so close family though. The only thing we do is wear pjs to open presents then change if we're going to somewhere else

No we never do themes but I love the idea. As its a 'dress up' do I'd go for the black flapper one with ltos of beads and a band around your head and maybe even a big feather and feather boa too - very chic.
