Small boy, large eyes

We’ve been invited to a friend’s house for Christmas Eve. We meet with them regularly and usually exchange a small gift at Christmas time. We are making them a calendar. We have photos of their grandchildren, their dogs and many of their garden as they live on 5 acres and most of it is planted with beautiful trees and plants including a great many rose-bushes. We have chosen the photos we want and Vince is now ordering the calendar online. The photo shows their very photogenic grandson which seems to have enormous eyes. Some photos come up really well in black-and-white, don’t you think?

It is, isn't it? Vince is doing more and more black and white lately. Just transforming coloured photos and seeing how they turn out. Sometimes it is really effective.

What a wonderful gift that will be. We call them saucer eyes. Talking about special gifts wonder if this photo could be embossed on coffee mugs.

I hope so. We have photos of the three grandchildren and of their dogs as well as some of their beautiful flowers.

Yes, it is an amazing photo! That is a wonderful gift, a calendar with pictures that would be appreciated. I wonder if anybody close by does that? I'll have to look into it.

We are using a local furniture and homewares firm but there are online places like Vistaprint and Snapfish which provide this service.

i'm imagining how beautiful and peaceful their garden is. i have a relative who receives a calendar every year with their pictures on it made by a family fried. i took pictures of our dog and played with the black and white feature on my phone. it looked much better.

It is a really lovely garden. There are various options but we needed 13 nice photos for this calendar. You can have them made with just one photo if you want to. And yes, black and white can be quite stunning.

They are quite easy to get made but you need enough good photos if you want a photo for each month.

What a beautiful child. Our youngest daughter who is 40 now does calendars for us and her two sisters & families of pictures taken through the year. I love ours and enjoy each month looking over good times and memories

There are not many families where we'd have enough photos but we visit this couple quite often and were lucky to take some photos of the grandchildren which we've been able to incorporate.

Black an white can look really good. This is actually sepia which is more of a brown colour.

We are lucky to have usable photos of all three grandchildren, We only have one photo of one grandson. It is nothing special but will be okay.
