How do you decide your financial planning?

Financial planning is must for everyone, how do you decide about your future investment? Do you do your own analysis from internet or any other information or do you take a help from professional financial advisory? or just follow some of your friends or relatives?

I am a middle class women and there is no planning, coz whatever the amount earned by me has to pay the bills if anything is there still in hand then I will try to buy for my son according to his need.
