I love wrapping paper!!

I like to buy my wrapping paper after Christmas when it's on sale. I have a tote that I keep it in to keep it safe all year. I like to have a lot of color under the tree.. so I try very hard to use a variety of wrapping paper every year, and try not to wrap more than 1 gift per child in the same kind of wrapping paper.. so that means I need to keep quite a bit of wrapping paper on hand (the kids typically get about 10 gifts each). Last year I went a bit crazy on the clearance rolls of wrapping paper, and had so much it didn't fit into my tote. I did all my wrapping this past weekend. As you know I finished my shopping weeks ago, and the gifts have been hidden in our vehicles since Thanksgiving. I was worried that something could happen to them and wanted them in the house, but it's safest if they're wrapped so the kids can't go snooping! While I was wrapping, I was almost able to use a different type of wrapping paper per gift... and that's a lot because as you know I have 5 kids to shop for. The younger 4 that still live at home got 10 gifts each while the oldest only got 3 gifts to unwrap.. but one of those gifts is full of gift cards. He got 2 gift cards for food, one for gas, one to Walmart and one to a sporting goods place. I also got him an outfit, a video game, and paid off a loan for him (it only had 2 payments left, but that's 2 payments he doesn't have to make!). At most I only used the same wrapping paper twice... except for one particular roll which I really liked, I wrapped one present per child using this wrapping paper. I actually still have a couple of brand new rolls I didn't open. I think next year I will aim to wrap each and every gift in different wrapping paper and not use the same roll twice. That means I'll need a minimum of 40 rolls of wrapping paper, but I probably have about half of that right now. And I bet the kids don't even notice or care.. but it's a weird habit I've picked up over the years. Are you picky about your wrapping paper?

Wrapping presents and collecting wrapping papers are fun. Though they will just be torn and thrown away after the gift is open

That's so true. But what a pretty site before we rip the wrapping paper off

Lol that’s quite a task you are setting yourself up for next year. I have 3 rolls right now and hope that gets me through this holiday. I usually pick up some on clearance but I think I forgot last year. I usually had a specific paper I used on the gifts from Santa otherwise I didn’t really put much plan into the paper.

Meh, I never did the whole some from Santa some from parents thing.. it was all from Santa until they were old enough to realize it wasn't ever from Santa.

@katsmeow1213 Interesting I’ve never heard of anyone doing it that way before. I thought about you when I was out shopping yesterday. It reminded me to grab a roll of wrapping paper because I only half three rolls all of which are half gone.

I made it a point to buy zero wrapping paper and bags this year . . . I have a bunch stocked up from past clearance sales too! Plus I keep the ones we get (not the paper, but the bags), so they are reused. And that's not only for Christmas. Yah, kids don't really care about that part . . . but for us who do the buying and wrapping, it does help to have all that stuff on hand!

I got about 20 more rolls of paper this year on clearance. I do have quite a few rolls that can be used at other occasions as well because their just colorful.

@katsmeow1213 I try to buy the ones that can be used for other times too - see, you and I know how to make the most out of clearance wrap . I got a lot of bags from what we got for Christmas this year - so at least I'm stocked up for that for next year!

@much2say I got a lot of bags too. One of the stores up where my boyfriend's daughter lives had the big ones that sell for $5 for 50 cents. We grabbed a bunch!!! Bill, my boyfriend, saw them and had kittens! The first thing he wanted to know was where I was going to put them. I'm living with him since my house burned down. I told him I was giving them to the owner of the antique shop where I have a booth space. So much for stocking up!

Wow, I'm really impressed - and you're very generous. I hope your kids are good to you too - not in gifts so much but appreciating the trouble you go to.

Um, not really, LOL. I don't think they understand the trouble I go to. But they will someday.

We use a different wrapping paper for each pwrson too. Sometimes even 2 or three different ones per person. We have a huge santa sack bag full of our wrapping paper. But we do get more every year after christmas along with tags and cards.

I do not repeat the same paper per person, that's my #1 wrapping rule!

I'm wrapping paper crazy. My favorite is the all silver metallic, last year it was the red. This year I saw some plaid. That's the one I want this year-Plaid!!

I like really colorful ones, especially ones with all kinds of color instead of just mostly one color.

I have one roll of wrapping paper. Lol. But I'll get another to wrap the last of the presents.
