In the almost 15 years that my husband and I have been together, I have never attended one of his company's Christmas parties. I've never really been impressed enough with his employer/company or what I've heard of most of his coworkers to want to go out of my way to attend a fancy party that is always over an hour away from here. (I did attend one of his coworker's weddings once and that was very nice.)
Tomorrow, however, I am breaking that annual tradition. My husband started at a new company last January and it has been so wonderful for him. Less stress, more job satisfaction, better for our financial situation, work from home and job travel opportunities, etc. so I am joining him at the company party.
It is at the boss' house in New Hope, PA which is an hour and a half away from here. Luckily the dress code is "business casual" so I can just wear a nice sweater and khakis like I would to work. I don't DO dresses unless I am going to a wedding. I told my husband to just book us a room out there to stay at because I didn't want to have to deal with that ride home in the middle of the night after a long day of work and then the party. We will just come home in the morning after having breakfast out there somewhere.
I am looking forward to meeting his coworkers. I've heard that they are looking forward to meeting me. Stay tuned!

I used to work for a satellite TV company. One year, HBO threw us a mean Christmas party. Have fun!

Excited is overstating it a bit. I'm an introvert and a homebody. To be going out and staying out all night is out of my comfort zone but it only makes sense in this situation. It will be nice to meet my husband's coworkers, though, as I've heard so much about them.
