Is it fudge or not???

I was attempting to make fudge this year, and give them out as Christmas gifts, since I really do not have the $$$ to do anything else. I followed the instructions to the letter, and all I ended up with was a large pan of chocolate goo... The flavors are all there. It is just that I can not seem to get this chocolate to harden the way it is suppose to... I am wondering how appropriate it would be, to dish out a handful of this chocolate goo and place it in a gift box, along with a note to each recipient; stating that if they can figure out a way to get this goo to harden, it will make a pretty tasty fudge treat? Kinda like a "do-it-yourself" kit. LOL I am just so frustrated. I have tried everything! The best I can do is get a nice crust on the top.

This has happened to me also, and it is frustrating, after all that hard work. I'm not sure there is a remedy to fix it, but I do like changing your gift to a do-it-yourself kit.

Someone suggested to me to buy some dough and cook them in cupcake pans. After they cool, fill the pies with my chocolate fudge goo, and they will make great fudge pies. I am going with it. Because what I made is really tasty. It is just hard to eat as it is. So making them into mini pies, will solve the issue.

I'd be happy with whatever I got so long as there is something fudgy and chocolatey - two of my favourite things!

Home made cooked fudge is really hard to get right at times. But there are other fudge recipes using marshmallow creme or powdered sugar that usually turn out well. Check out the recipes on line at allrecipes. com. Maybe you could reheat your fudge, add a little more milk and give it away as a hot fudge sauce in a jar.

I never attempted to make fudge but your DIY idea seems like a good idea. If it tastes good then go with it
