Christmas time is here, no not the song the season. Time to sip the egg nog, attend parties, buy gifts, send out those cards, decorate the house and tree, and of course sing Christmas Carols. Which brings me to my topic. A music series of my favorite "Classic songs" with Christmas in the title.
Today's series selections contains two popular Christmas Classics, but before we begin let's listen to a more modern holiday video with a Christmas title. "Not our 2 trivia tunes," but a nice song just the same.
Here are a few facts about the video artist and song:
-Although the members of Wings do not feature on the song, they do appear in the song's music video, which was filmed at the Fountain Inn in Ashurst, West Sussex.
-This tune continues to receive substantial airplay every year. , "Wonderful Christmastime" peaked at No. 6 on the UK Singles Chart the week ending 5 January 1980.
-McCartney performed the song on the December 15, 2012 episode of Saturday Night Live.
Ok, hope you enjoyed the video. Paul was actually hanging out at that pub during filming. Now for your clues to our Christmas trivia tunes and the recording artists:
1. This classic was recorded in 1958 when the female singer was only 13 years old. Although Decca released the single in both 1958 and again in 1959, it did not sell well until the singer became a popular star in 1960. Known as "Little Miss Dynamite," she stood 4'9". She recorded this in July, the studio air conditioning was turned up to provide a freeezing effect, and a Christmas tree all set up to kind of get in the mood just a little bit. Although this Carol rocked out, the artist embraced the country sound as her career blossomed.
2. He was an American Jazz artist and pianist. Beginning in the late 1940s, the artist began recording and performing pop-oriented material for mainstream audiences. The song was first recorded in 1946 and later re-recorded by this singer with a string section, becoming a huge hit. The song became more popular than ever in the '00s, as radio stations in a variety of formats added it to their holiday playlists every year. The artist's daughter did a famous interactive duet with one of her Dad's hits for her 1991 album which won a Grammy for Album of the Year.
There are the clues... Do you know the artists and their hit Christmas songs? If not, enjoy the Christmas video.
Thanks for all who participate, read, and comment on my music trivia posts. As always, thanks for playing! Hope these songs brought back a pleasant memory for some...Use those clues!!!!

What? No mention of Mel Tormé as writer of song #2? Judge Harry T. Stone is gonna throw the book at you!!!!
I met the singer of #1 at the grand opening of the new Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001. She really is short. However, she was standing next to Little Jimmy Dickens so she actually looked tall.
Have a great day!!
Clueless

@teamfreak16 It is, popular songs with different messages. They both receive a lot of airplay. I heard George and Ringo even had Christmas songs although I am not familiar with them?

I don't know the first one, but I think the second one is Nat King Cole. I think she performed this on the Academy Awards one year.
