Holiday, Temps and Sister

I left Nebraska many years ago because of the blizzards and freezing temps; that would usually last from Halloween through to sometimes the end of April. You would think that the middle of "Texas" would be a good, warm spot wouldn't you? Well no.
For the entire holiday week it 'might' get up to 40 degrees (4.4 celsius) as the high and 20 degrees (-6.6 celsius) at night. Now mind you, my sister will be visiting for Xmas and since she is 100 pounds (45.36 kilograms) overweight, she thinks turning on the heat is ridiculous.
So I will be sitting here with socks and furry slippers, a heavy sweater and jeans, probably my furry robe and more than likely a pair of earmuffs for the duration of her visit. Gloves will be out of the question but I can put my hands in the pockets of the furry robe.
Her normal visit time before she quit working was 3 days at the maximum. Now I don't know. So either she will kill me or I'll kill her and wind up in jail. If you don't hear from me on the 28th, start sending bail money.

I sure hope so @marlina . I don't ever remember Xmas & jail being synonymous with each other.

The way I see it is if I visit with someone, family or otherwise, I simply have to make due with what ever heating or cooling they normally do. So, why should you freeze because your sister is visiting? You could tell her to bring a bathing suit in case it's too warm for her.

Well, @nanette64 she's pretty lucky she doesn't have to pay for a hotel room, right?

@nanette64 It's horrible being in a cold house, your feet get cold, your nose and hands seem to be pieces of ice.

I've thought about mentioning that (weight) to her; especially when she sits there using a piece of paper as a FAN @just4him . It's aggravating as all get out. Particularly when I have a box fan and an oscillating fan pointed directly at her and a ceiling fan going at the same time. Geez, seriously????

@just4him Yes, she does and she 'knows' it but she uses every excuse in the book on why she can't lose weight.

I've lived in California all my life. It will be 65F tomorrow in Paso Robles. I remember Christmases when it's been 90F. I think 65 is about right for the season here. I see your predicament. Hubby is sick and either too hot or too cold. I'm adjusting until he gets better.

I am sorry but that is your home! You keep it to the temp you are comfortable, give her a a pair of thongs and a couple bandaids so she wont over heat.
My sister lives in a small place and her house is hot, I live in a big house and its around 70, to her this is cold so she wears extra clothes but never tells me to cut up the heat and I would never tell her to turn hers off. Its just wrong.

Even her 2 dogs that come with her are bundled up on their beds @andriaperry . Now that should tell her something. Poor doggies; they must be miserable at home.

Love that Jedi @dgobucks226 . And yeah, skin and bones are not conducive to the movement of shivering.

She's 2 hours away @Wogiam , so distance wouldn't make much of a difference. Darn it.
