If you are using sharing apps in your cell phones then its time to be a little more cautious. You might be aware that sharing application like Shareit or Xender use your hotspot as a medium of transfer between two devices. These applications modify your hotspot settings at times changing the name and more drastic they even modify it to an open network removing your password protection where its easy for anyone to get access to your internet data. I realised this when once sharing my mobile hotspot the other person was just not prompted for a password, instead he found my mobile hotspot as an open network. I quickly checked my hotspot settings and to my worst fears my password protection was gone, it was an open network. I use Shareit and its the only application that requested for hotspot access when used and without a doubt its the culprit who is manipulating my security. You please make sure in intervals that your security settings haven't been manipulated without you knowing. Image Credit:- My Own Via Mobile.

@catsholiday It is but a little concern can be safe, just keep on checking if your password is still there if you are using any of the apps that request permissions for wifi or wi-fi hotspot.

True, I have received links that were requested to be opened but I never do. I don't get it as to why cheating others has become a side business for some.

Have you rooted your phone ? Otherwise, I do not understand how it can be done by an app.

Oh! Thanks a lot my Friend. I was not aware about this changes. I always used to share my photo or important documents via shareit.
