I realized the other day that I never got a Christmas gift for the kids' bus driver. I got one for my younger son's teacher, but totally forgot the bus driver. I like to get them $5 Dunkin Donuts gift cards so they can buy some coffee or whatever.
Tuesday we had a Secret Santa party at work, and I figured I'd probably get a silly gift card for Secret Santa because I'm new and nobody knows what I want yet..
So I figured I could give the bus driver whatever gift card I got at the Secret Santa.
Unfortunately things didn't quite work out that way.
Instead of a silly gift card to Dunkin or some other coffee place... I got a gift card to a restaurant because I told the girls I really wanted to try this restaurant but just hadn't gotten around to it. I told them this awhile back, and the girl who picked me for her Secret Santa remembered the conversation and got me a gift card to that restaurant.
OMG I was floored!
Granted it's only $10 and it's a pricey restaurant.. but I will certainly not be regifting this gift card! I plan to use it.. and hopefully soon!
So tonight on my way home I had to stop at Dunkin and get a gift card for the bus driver.
Have you done a Secret Santa exchange at work?

I've always done it.. I mean $5 isn't much, but it's a cup of coffee and a donut on their way to work.

Secret Santa's can be great fun and how nice to receive such a card!

Yes it was a lot of fun. It made me feel bad as I just got a Dunkin Donuts card for my Secret Santa, thankfully not the same person though.

That was really nice that she remembered your conversation and gave you such a thoughtful gift.
