Favorite "New" Songs #1 - "New Religion"

Ten songs ago, this was a new countdown. Today, it's time to put it to rest. I have been counting down my favorite songs with "new" in the title, and we've reached #1: "New Religion" by Duran Duran.
They have popped up in a couple of my music series' before, but this is the first time that Duran Duran has topped one. And "New Religion" wasn't even a hit.
In fact, the "dialogue between the ego and the alter-ego" (Simon Le Bon's vocals are layered over themselves,) wasn't even released as a single. It's merely an album cut from their 1982 hit record, Rio.
Judging from the number of live videos on You Tube, however, performances spanning the band's lengthy career, it seems to be a group favorite, or, at least, one they enjoy playing live.
Enjoy!

It's hard to think of any alternative bands of the time that hit bigger.

@JohnRoberts - They are eventually going to have to start letting some of these 80's bands in. They won't have a choice.

I think this was one of the biggest reasons that Rio was such a good album.

I can't believe this list is already at number 1. This isn't my favorite song by them, but his voice is always good.

@FourWalls - When they opened for Bowie, they did a cool acoustic version of "Save a Prayer." Warren Cucchurulo on guitar.

They got lumped as a "boy band" because so many girls fawned over Simon LeBon, but hey, they rock! (And still do, as that video proves!)
Great series!!
