Most of the world by now knows the ten commandments of the Christian bible. Many people shy away from them because they just seem ridiculous or to hard to follow. I want to take a little bit to try to change the way we think of them so let's talk about just a few of them. Thou shalt not steal. Seems like common sense that you shouldn't steal from others but it's a written law not only by Christian law but also the law in most states in America yet many people still do it. Why is this law in the bible? Is it because God just wants to be controlling? No. This law and every other ten commandment law is Gods way of saving your life. In America in many states, if you break into someone's home to steal from them, they can legally shoot you dead. There's no coming back from that so again, God is trying to save your life.
Thou shalt not kill. Most people read this and say, duh! Right? Well this again is Gods way of saving your life because if you kill someone one of three things is going to happen, 1. You're going to prison for the rest of your life so you basically have no life. 2. You will be given the death sentence and be executed for killing someone. Or 3. The family of the person you killed is going to come after you to end your life the same brutal way and again there's no coming back.
Thou shalt not covet. Wanting something so bad often leads to stealing which in that case you can refer back to the others to know the end result. (Especially coveting their spouse) in which case you end up in bed with them and get caught by the angry husband or wife and again chances are you will end up hurt or worse.
Thou shalt not lie. If you lie to someone it's not a big deal Right? Well sure unless you lie to someone that ends up being an angry psychotic in which case again, you're probably going to end up in the hospital or worse.
I didn't cover all ten but I think you get the point. The ten commandments weren't written because God is some "mean control freak on a power trip". He wants us to live in peace and well...be alive. Think about it, It makes sense.

Well said. You make very good sense. I read this just now and am quite happy for reading it and I hope you will continue to add to your list of logical meanings to the rest of the 10 commandments so if you do I will likely enjoy reading them as well.

Thank you I appreciate that. I have heard many people complain about the ten commandments so I figured I would try to help them understand that they are meant to help people not hurt them.
