How can you benefit from sleeping without pillo?

We all use a pillow while sleeping without even trying not to sleep without a pillow. Even I have not given any thought at any point of time to sleep without a pillow. I was thinking that it is quite convenient for sleeping using a pillow. But, this found to be wrong. One can have a good and sound sleep even without a pillow.
By using pillow we are actually reducing the blood circulation to the head. If the pillow is down then the airflow to the respiratory system is affected.
By sleeping without a pillow we allow the spine to take maximum rest.
When we use a pillow that does not give proper support then the body starts compensating by engaging the neck and shoulder muscles. They undergo stress. Instead of getting relief from Strain we will be subjecting our body to a more strain.
People many of the time press their faces against the pillow while sleeping. This actually restricts the blood circulation to the face. The air is not allowed through the pores of the facial skin. The dirt and dust accumulate and it becomes greasy also. There will be the formation of blackheads also.

I cannot sleep without 2 pillows, I would be wide awake and feel strain in the neck

Better you try to avoid it. First, you may feel the strain. In one or two days you will come back to your normal position and even enjoy sleeping without pillow and its benefits.

We often tend to prefer comfort over what’s actually good for the health which results in harming us in the long run. There’s another thing ; pillow case should be changed every second day. We don’t realise but most of the acne on face do form because of unclean pillows.

You are exactly right. In the case of people who sleep with pillow it is imperative that the pillowcase/cover should be changed at least once in 3 days. But many people do not do it. They do not feel the importance of it. They should know not changing the cover will develop dandruff and other bacterial diseases. Sometimes, it may affect the facial skin also.

if you sleep on your back, then yeah maybe you can sleep without a pillow, but can you stay/sleep in that position for 8 hours straight?

Once you get into deep sleep everything becomes flexible and the nerves and muscles adjust themselves.

Here, the interesting thing is that the neck and shoulder muscles adjust themselves and there will be total rest to the spine.So what you think may not be there.

I just found out last night that I had been sleeping without a pillow very happily for almost a week. Strange discovery, but I just chucked the pillow aside the moment I was about to doze off...

First, we feel like that. Just now I did not. After waking up I felt totally relaxed. The pain in the left knee is also not there. This was killing me for anything. Now, I could walk freely after getting down the cot.
