Such are the wonders of books don't you think?

Maybe this is a timeless kind of discussion! No matter what is going on in the world there will always be some kind of discussion about books. So, what takes your fancy? Are you an avid book reader? Do you become thoroughly engrossed within the first few pages? Okay, that's enough of the flowery language! I have been a book reader for as long as I can remember, ever since childhood in fact. I love books. Books satisfy and fill me up completely and they give me exactly what I need and the best and worst moments of my life. I live a solitary existence and sometimes I do feel imprisoned even though I am free. Picking up a favourite book I can slowly forget the hours passing by and I can be travelling across the Universe, climbing a huge mountain, wondering how that famous Detective is going to plot his next course of action! Well, you get the gist. If books were a healthy, savoury meal then I would have them for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Are you a book lover? Books are my world!

Oh reading! I actually feast on this task! I also have a favourite spot in my living room close to my window and it kind of sets the scene. Have a good week.

Oh that's great. I hope that I gave you some inspiration to return to the written word! I have no idea what I would do without a good book to hand. Give me detective novels, thrillers, not so hot on non-fiction as for only fiction can really transport me to those special places.

It depends on the book. Some I read just for a lark and others are ones I've looked forward to. These days I don't get much time to read and haven't really been able to get to the library or buy books. When I'm writing I also tend to avoid books because I don't want them to influence me. I love horror novels, short stories and will even dive into a nonfiction if it is something I'm interested in.

All of that sounds really good. I also love to write although I do keep a favourite book close to hand. Don't you find that with reading a lot of books that this always improves on your writing? I find this myself and I think the two go together like a hand to a glove. I love horror books also and Stephen King has to be my favourite author from that genre. I am not so hot on non-fiction though as I love to truly escape into a strange world of fiction. Thanks for responding and have a good week.

True! What would the world be like without books. I also have a kindle but to be honest I don't like turning the pages electronically. I much prefer holding a physical book in my hand as you can smell the dust on an old book!

Okay, I will give you that one :) It is true, the kindle can store hundreds if not thousands of books.

I have been an avid book reader for many yrs now, and have found some interesting authors over the yrs. I like the ones where you can read about them being somewhere or doing something and feel like you are right there with them. Getting lost in a Good book is so worth it.

Oh that's terrific that you love reading and that is a lot of books. I suppose it is a good thing to keep a tally, I used to do this but then stopped. There's a website that I used to use called Goodreads and I don't know if you are aware of the site but the site allows you to record every book you read so you build of a reading history, anyway, just a thought. Thanks for responding and have a good week.
