The sad reality of a long-term relationship.

You become more of friends rather than lovers. Sometimes sleeping off an argument is better rather than facing it while everything is hot. You don't need to fix it outright. Give them space to think it through. There will be a lot of unspoken words, a lot of unnecessary words thrown at you, and a lot of pride and changes to adapt to. Being on a road to a long-term relationship is good but never lose yourself while in it. Be with that person who will not mind if you get fat or your skin sags, dark or you lose the beauty that once made him fall for you, after all, you are not a timeless beauty. Make sure that you are in that road with someone who will be worth you LOVE, PAIN and ANGER, worth your TIME and EFFORT and most of all, worth of that KINDNESS your heart is yet to unleash. Can you add some more? Thanks. Let's all have a good one.

You should always be friends with your partner. But i think you should mostly be lovers. Hope things are okay with you and your relationship?

Actually, I don't have issues with my relationship. I just thought of how it takes to have a Long term relationship. I mean based on somebody's experiences.

long term relationship can cause boredom... we miss the spark and passionate love while keeping it romantic when one another is getting blunt. i dont know also why i experinced short term.relationship, im the type who is easily getting bored with my partner if he is not that funny and cute...

@JustBhem Yes i really prefer funny and humorist partner. The ones i used to date were boring ones because too serious. I didnt know why i attracted those silent persons...

Hmm, my past relationship was all serious person. And you are right, there. We tend to get bored. But if your partner is a jester, friendly person and full of a sense of humor. I bet, there is not day, months even years on your relationship you get bored. I mean, find a person that can make us laugh all the time.

That's why it's best to end up with someone who became your friend first.

@JustBhem well, what I wanted to say is that I am hoping I can have the same kind of man based on the descriptions you indicated above since today is different than what it is tomorrow and anything that happens today might possibly change in the future. =)

Long term relationships can be scary not knowing if they feel as strongly as us. I have trust issues so it’s tough.

I see this is another thing to consider. When it comes to having a relationship. Other people get traumatized by the fact that they are being used and lied. And there comes the trust issue.

I am with my husband from 46 years, we are happy being together and every day is a new discovery. Never enter a "routine" this kills romance and love.

Those are all good. Though I wouldn't call it 'sad'. A long term relationship requires friendship, trust, honesty, hope, and love. I'm sure there's a lot more than that, but those to me are key.
