It Takes All Types to make a World

We run into all types of people and some leave their impression for the wrong reason.
I came across one at my workplace and he was quite friendly. One day he made a hurried call telling me his staff was on the way to my office and wanted money to settle an urgent bill of his. As I was telling him that I had to arrange the funds there was a knock on my door and in walked his staff. I did not want to disappoint my friend, so I paid the money which was supposed to be for a short period – till he returned to his office after a couple of days.
Then the hide and seek began. The “gentleman" proved an elusive character and finally I tracked him down. His casual reply to my request to repay my advance was: “lots of people owe me money too”, meaning to forget about it! I was flabbergasted at his volte-face, a callous attitude totally different from what he was earlier.
Thankfully, I got my money back when he was owed money by a friend and I had told him about this issue. My friend paid him less the money owed to me.
That is life, one never knows the true color of another; there are so many pretenders out to deceive the innocent.

It is said when we lend money to friends or family we lose the money as well as the relationship we had.
I have been treated like a beggar left to remind many times what was promised to be repaid within a certain time. The irony is the supposed very rich forget to repay what they took from me - siva

Yes, I have run into a few like that in my life. When I lend money, I assume that I will never get it back and when I do, I am surprised.

@Shiva49 You were very kind to help him that time. Now you know what kind of person he is.

This person was a business acquaintance who sounded distraught that his office telephone would be disconnected. And avoiding me for helping him in distress was just beyond me!
This person was more of a confidence trickster, it turned out - siva

I have also reached the end of the tether having lost a lot to those who are better off than me now!
I have dreams at times where they appear " here is the money, sorry for the delay, accept our apologies." I agree the reality is different! siva

In the Christian bible, we are told by Jesus Christ things like to turn the other cheek, to give someone your coat when asked, and to walk two miles with someone, rather than one when asked, and to give somebody something, if they have requested to borrow it from you.
In short, we are to, "Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don't try to get them back."
These ideas are mentioned in Saint Luke's gospel, chapter 30.
All of these things relate to the amount of altruism that you place on the love in your heart.
When you cling to other things, rather than to love, in other words, when you are not loving fully, this prevents you from following love's path for you then, and which, if followed fully, always takes you closer than you usually want to go towards another person, be that giving them of yourself, your possessions or your time.
Do not hold back, but love openly and fully, and your reward, if any, will be in heaven, as only the lovingnessness of your life allows you to enter heaven, of which love is the passcode, and the entrance ticket, rolled into one.

@Shiva49 Yes, the picture Jesus painted is a hard one for most of us to put ourselves into, given the state of the World we currently live in.
Perhaps nobody left in the world now, has the courage and fortitude to live in the way of the picture that he painted for us to live by.
But, like you, we can keep the brush in our hands, and not drop it, and try our best to paint our self into the bigger picture, with some of our own colours too, not as yet too blackened over by the pain of living here right now as yet either.

@Shiva49 The only problem is that our bodies are usually so overstressed with all of the additives and rubbish they put in our foods, that it's a wonder that they work at all.
Diabetes is a major problem all over the world because of our diets I think.
I am not so sure in your case though. Having a vegetarian diet, being thin, I wonder why you got it.
Then again as we get older, a lot of us develop senile diabetes. It's related to our age, past stress levels, lifestyle, etc etc, I think.

@innertalks Indians seem to be more prone to diabetes and we consume more sweets as they are sort of taken as part of every day diet. It is in our genes as my father had it - siva
