Favorite Funk Songs #6 - "One Nation Under a Groove"

I am Overpowered by Funk. And while that Clash song isn't on this particular countdown, #6 in my Favorite Funk Songs series is: "One Nation Under a Groove" by the legendary Funkadelic. Funkadelic, of course, was one half of George Clinton's P-Funk (Parliament/Funkadelic) empire, boasting, over the years, legends such as Bootsy Collins, Eddie Hazel, Bernie Worrell, and Blackbyrd McKnight among it's roster. "One Nation Under a Groove" is the title track from the band's classic 1978 album. The song was quite successful, becoming Funkadelic's first million-selling single (interestingly, the popular, extended 12-Inch single version of the song has never been released on CD format.) Generally considered the band's most widely-known tune, the single reached #28 on the Billboard Hot 100, spent six weeks atop that magazine's Soul chart, and made a splash in the dance clubs, peaking at #31 on Billboard's Club Play Singles chart.
