fake clouds, fake rain and the morning after

i constantly remind myself that those gray clouds are just passing by. they don't carry rain, threatening to burst. the few times that they ever did in the weeks leading up to christmas was usually before noon. but they were just very brief and very light drizzles. more like mist, actually. so no need to hurry. no need to worry. about the laundry, or getting drenched. firecrackers and fireworks are lit up the before the clock strikes 12 midnight. then people eat some more, talk some more, sing some more, laugh some more. so the morning of january 1st is usually quiet as people wake up late. so quiet that i could hear planes flying overhead. also playing hide and seek with the clouds. (i do feel bad for people in other parts of my country affected by the typhoons. and for those who are stranded at airports, piers, and bus terminals.) happy new year, mylotters. thank you for interacting with me.

I think it's neat they do fireworks there for New Years. We only do that here for Independance day on July 4th. The photo is gorgeous did you create it or find it online?

i only get from pixabay or use my own. if pixabay, (like that) you can see the link to the actual image on the site when you hover your mouse over it. i tried to take a pic last year, but my phone can't capture them well. i also tried to take a pic of the supermoon last year, but it was just a small white dot.

@shaggin that's okay. my phone is just an old hand-me-down, and not a samsung nor apple, which i'm okay with since i'm not really into gadgets. but i still appreciate being given one so i can play games, read news and take pics.

I missed out the happy New Year wishes from you . Is it too late to say 'Happy New Year' to you now? (You are a real philosopher aren't you. Thought you were about to tell us about the manmade rain in China. )

We experienced rain and some light wind here but no cancellation of flights. I hope other places didn't suffer that much with the typhoon.

even though we're a small country, vis-min has been experiencing rains while it's cloudy but dry here in the capital.

Though people are affected by this so-called calamities, they still can smile despite the outcome. Happy New year there.

Happy New Year to you @hereandthere ! There were fireworks going off in the distance (they are illegal here) from early evening. We (including the kids) stayed up til midnight, which was not intended - we were watching the ball drop in NY. And then the fireworks were out again, but by then we could sleep .

although the sun and clouds play hide and seek all day every day, and it's cold at night, it never rains.

Glad it didn’t rain for you on New Years. It was very cold and icy where I live.
