Confused by a Mylot notification

As we all know, when someone mentions us on Mylot or responds, comments etcetera we receive a notification. Clicking on the link takes us directly to the relevant comment or response, making the system very easy to follow.
Yesterday @LoriAMoore posted a discussion and mentioned me in the content, but she used my screen name instead of my username so it did not generate a notification. I saw the post anyway and responded, so the name did not really matter.
Recently I received a notification, but clicking on it simply opened the discussion and did not select a comment or response. I tried the link several times, then finally resorted to scrolling through the discussion and opening each column, but to no avail.
Eventually I discovered the reason. She had edited the discussion to change Koalemos into Asylum, which automatically generated a notification because I had been mentioned.
I can imagine her giggling while doing this and thinking “This will confuse the old fool”.

The double notification is a common occurrence. Mylot notifies members when someone comments on their comment and also when their name is mentioned. Therefore if someone mentions your name while commenting on your comment you will receive both.
