I felt last night's earthquake. Did it make the news where you are?

I had just woken from a dream when last night's earthquake hit. I did feel it, though it wasn't as strong, nor as long, as some others I have felt here.
The strange thing is that I "predicted" it. There was an unusual tension in the air, as if things were TOO still, and I thought, are we about to have an earthquake? Then, about two seconds later, the house rattled.
There was no initial jolt, like a truck hitting the house, as there usually is. Just a fairly quick shaking for about three seconds. I guessed 2.8, but apparently it was 4.4, centered in Berkeley, where I'm heading now.
I'll ask if any of my fellow teachers or the kids felt it there. Did our little quake make the news where you live? No damage or injuries have been reported.

No, I hadn't heard about it. But then, I didn't listen to the news this morning, either. My guess is, if it was so minor, it wouldn't have anyway.

@TheHorse I think for some people their body fluids feel a change in density prior to an event like that. Like how a full moon causes the ocean waves to increase; same with the fluid in the body. Since the human body is 60% water, shifting of the ground can be felt prior to the actual event by some people. Animals know prior to an event that something is going to happen too.

Well, I didn't understand how you could predict earthquake with the unusual tension in the air. I didn't hear anything about earthquake in California.
But I have experience how it feels like to be in earthquake for about a minute.

Maybe I felt a jolt in my dream, and turned it into something else (all of our senses are operative while we dream). But I had been lying there awake for a few seconds (or so I thought) when the quake hit. I'll ask my neighbors how long it lasted for them. I've never felt one last a whole minute! I lived in Iowa during the famous 1989 quake here.

@creativeaashish I did not feel the usual pre-quake jolt--like truck ran into the building. I am trying to lean if that jolt happened for others.

For us, a 4.4 earthquake does not make news. We are an earthquake country.

I don't remember hearing about it, but I might not have paid attention to the news that night. Glad everyone is ok.

We will probably hear about this earthquake, on the 6:00P news and weather this evening. It's funny you mentioned observing the obvious stillness in the air. Before a tornado occurs in Michigan, the atmosphere in that area gets unnaturally still and quite eerie. It's better known as the calm, before a storm hits.

One of the celebrities in my country was having a vacation in Cali and he tweeted that he felt the earthquake. Good thing to know that you are not hurt
