Celebrating the New Year with the Birth of My 5th Grandchild!

My 5th grandchild, a boy, was born on January 4th. He is my third grandson, and the first born to my youngest son and his wife.
There was a time when my son didn't think he would ever meet someone that would love him. He also doubted he would ever have children. I told him to be patient.
He met his lovely wife and married her 2 years ago on Valentine's Day. They welcomed their first child yesterday.
I am delighted beyond words. Little Miss is happy to have a new cousin too.

My son and DIL are sending me many pics and videos. I am get emotional with every picture I receive. Can't wait to hold the little bugger.

@celticeagle I know that Little Miss will be a bit jealous of my holding the new baby. I will see if she will be able to hold him while sitting next to my son or DIL. She will love that.

Congratulations!
I was in a live chat with 3 young adults (17-21) who had given up on love. I gave them quite the talk on how they had their whole live ahead of them, that they were just getting their lives started and will be meeting lots of people. The right person will come at the right time. I am so happy for your son.

My son had to go through some pretty hard knocks and thought because of them, he would never meet anyone that would look beyond that. I love the young woman he married. They are truly soulmates.

Congratulations Grandma!! welcome to the new baby boy. My grandsons birthday was yesterday too (the 4th and he just turned 13 yrs old). He's also my 3rd grandson .

He is indeed a blessing. My son is overjoyed with becoming a father and my DIL is filled with love for this little one.

Congratulations! My son always thought of himself as a loner but he met a wonderful lady in college and now they are married. I hope they will have a little one or two but it's okay if not. At Christmas time they told me the separate wing on their house is meant for me when the time comes for me to leave this house (I'm living with my 97 year old mother.) That touched me so deeply, and I no longer fear my future. This is all off your topic, sorry! I am very happy for you and for your son that he too found the right partner.

His due date had been December 30th, but he had other plans to be born this year. The parents are beaming with love for this little one. I am blessed.
