people who look a bit like Jesus in America

I was watching TMZ - aka Thirty Mile Zone, last night, late night. There was an article about a man they referred to as Hollywood Jesus, who recently died. He dressed up in a white robe like Jesus wore and was about as much like the look of Jesus as possible without getting people to actually get down on their knees and beg forgiveness.
I don't know if it is a good thing to mock Jesus but it seems we do this in other ways, like on Christmas we have hundreds, or maybe thousands of people who grow a white long beard like Santa Clause and dress up as the Holiday Santa to add cheers and happy faces to the masses.
So my brother told me over the phone about a guy who looked almost like Charles Manson but a younger version of the guy. So, when possible, I think people love to play act that they are someone more famous than themselves, as a way to escape the ordinary and even if it's all in fun or an attempt to look like a living Jesus, or a born again Elvis risen from the dead, people often do and continue to like to LOOK EXACTLY LIKE a person who they really admire or want to become like them.
Do you have a friend or family member who loves to dress up and put on clothes to make themselves look like they are getting a star role in a movie about some celebrity or historic figure? My wife's oldest son paid a few dollars to get a picture of himself in a Civil War uniform and have his picture made in it with the entire outfit with gun and hat and beard looking in effect like he was there, living back in the days of the north and south war, even had it printed out in sepia tone to look just like a aged picture over 100 years old.
Sometimes I even look at myself in the mirror and see Albert Einstein looking back at me. I don't have my hair out at this time, but I sometimes let it grow out for a year or more without cutting it and when I do this I look like Einstein with the mustache and the color of my hair is almost white with the passing of the years quickly revealing my true age of 60.
Often times children like to party and do dress up and it is often the nature of actors to enjoy becoming, even for just a movie maker moment, like a pirate or a judge or a space man. The actors in Hollywood are into it. But moreover, many of us so called average people, on a night out on the town, like to dress up like a millionaire. I dress like a farmer at times. I mean, short hair cut, blue jeans, baseball cap, sunglasses. Rubber sole walking shoes and a sports watch. I would buy a pick up truck and wear a cowboy hat if I had them.
I like living in Texas and that is how I manage to fit in so well. I can look like a genius scientist or I can dress like a country hick or just put on dockers a white shirt and go drink a coffee and look like all the other people who are fresh out of college and sit and mingle or just sit alone and look at the way people interact and keep my distance and just take it all in.
So, if you are inclined to dress up and grow out your beard and try to take on the persona of somebody you like in the movies or from back in history, you can do this but don't think you will not get uploaded from some smartphone toting person who will check you out just for laughs.
The number of viral videos of people being seen looking foolish ranks the highest on social media sites but those who really just want to make a fashion statement, they are also uploading their own selfies. It's the way things are changing and it isn't possible to just be invisible when out in public. The chances are, you might dress up looking like a star and become one on your own if your video goes viral on Facebook or Twitter or YouTube.

No one knows what Jesus looked like. There are only artists conceptions of what he MIGHT have looked like and those depictions vary greatly from one artist to the other. Jesus was Jewish. I doubt if any WHITE man could look like Jesus.

@IreneVincent , Perhaps this is true in the basic essence of things. But we all tend to portray Jesus relative to our nationality. If Jesus can have blue eyes and fair skin He can also have very deep and dark skin with brown eyes. The thing is, we all have a little bit of Jesus in us all on a philosophic level. They say that He shines so very bright that one would perhaps be blinded by it if He appeared from out of the blue.Just a thought.

That is so true. Villains and Heroes alike. We tend to side with either good or evil from the day we first lean right from wrong to the end of time.

@Plethos , Well, that is not a bad thing actually. To see things from both points of view offers a good sense of what is real. There is a very fine line between good and evil sometimes so thin that one can not even see it, even when it is as obvious as the shadows on the pavement on a hot summer day.

Just a thought for you to consider. Your post was very interesting. The thing is that, no one knows what Jesus looked like. Artists over the years have depicted him in many different ways, but none of them ever saw Jesus and there are no photos of him. What most people forget is that he was Jewish, which almost assuredly means that he did not have blond hair and blue eyes.
He was also a perfect man, which means that he did not look like the thin, weak person that some artists painted. He would no doubt, have been strong and muscular, especially when you consider that he learned carpentry from his earthly father, Joseph.
So, anyone who thinks he looks like Jesus is probably way off the mark, when using an artist's conception or painting.

I see Jesus as a tall and strong man with a very gentle manner about Him.

@lookatdesktop Yes. I think that would be a very accurate description of Jesus.

I'm not sure that I'd like to grow my beard out, not even to look like someone famous. Not that I know many famous bearded ladies ...

@lookatdesktop thinks this is a good thing to read below.
Many people mistakenly believe that there is more evil in the world than there is good. They come to this erroneous conclusion because they narrowly focus on details of their own individual circumstances rather than looking at the big picture. [III, 12] An
